It applies to personal information collected through our website, email communications, business development activity, consulting engagements and other interactions with VCAI.

Information collected from other sources

We may occasionally obtain personal information from another source, including an organisation you work for, a professional referral, a publicly available source or another lawful source.

Where the New Zealand Privacy Act requires us to do so, we will take reasonable steps to make the individual aware that the information has been collected, why it was collected, who may receive it and their rights to access and correct it.

Our website and the services that support it may collect limited technical information required to operate the site, maintain security and understand how the website is being used.

This may include cookies or similar technologies and information such as browser type, device type, IP address, pages visited and general website activity.

If we introduce additional analytics, marketing, CRM or booking technologies that materially change how personal information is collected or used, we will update this policy as appropriate.

Our objective is that personal information continues to receive appropriate protection when third-party or overseas services are used.

08

How we protect personal information

We take reasonable technical, organisational and administrative safeguards to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

These safeguards may include access controls, authentication, security configuration, appropriate technology controls and limiting access to people who require the information for legitimate purposes.

No technology environment can guarantee absolute security. Where a privacy breach occurs, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
